The Perfection V200 is a printer manufactured by Epson. Note: this is NOT the cheaper CIS type found in most all-in-one units, but a true CCD type scanner with an LED light source (no warmup delay), consistent color reproduction and long life, and it will do 3D objects. If you're serious about getting all the detail from your old photos or slides, you can't go wrong with this excellent scanner. I then researched the issue and found that most of the built-in scanners were pretty much an afterthought.īut Epson to the rescue with a very well built, high quality external scanner, the Epson V300, to fill that void. My Epson XP-610 does beautiful printing, and everything else works great, but I spent hours scanning in photos and comparing the result to the actual photos, and determined to my chagrin that the scanner pretty much sucks. Fortunately, there are a plethora of cheap, All-in-One printers with built-in scanners, and the one's made by Epson, although excellent at printing, are no different from the rest when it comes to the poor quality of the scanner.
